The Dec Rebels will face surprise finalists St Ronald in the Oxy Cup final at Mannofield next Wednesday evening, following wins over Ellon and Grammar 98 respectively.
Grammar 98 were strongly fancied to make the final, however fell 28 runs short in the run chase. St Ronald batted first and made an impressive 148 for 6 off 20 overs, with Sunil (31 no), Gourav (30 no) and Sunny (29) doing the damage with the bat. In reply, Grammar 98 got off to the worst possible start, losing two wickets in the first over. Pick of the bowlers for St Ronald were Stuart Clark (4 for 18 off 4 overs), Afai (3 for 25 off 3 overs) and Gourav (2 for 15 off 3 overs). Grammar 98 made 120 AO, with Grant and Gavin Jamieson both making 19.
Inn at the Park have secured the league title after the deadline for playing rearranged league matches (5th August inclusive) passed with the match between the Dec Rebels and Dutchmill remaining unplayed (treated as an abandoned match). This meant that Inn at the Park finished the season on 18 points, with both the Dec Rebels and Ellon finishing on 17 points (the Rebels runners up by way of a better margin). At the other end of the table, Caledonian picked up the wooden spoon.
