There was not a jumper in sight as the Oxy Cup started with 4 preliminary matches in perfect conditions for cricket.
After three years, ATSSC's stranglehold on the cup has finally been broken, losing to Chevron by 6 wickets at the Links. Ellon beat Inn at the Park in a close encounter at DP 3. In the 'Queens Cross' derby, Grammar 98 overcame Dutchmill at DP1, winning by 35 runs. The Rebels recorded a comfortable 50 run win over MCC at DP2.
So Grammar 98, Ellon, the Rebels and Chevron move into the quarter finals to be played next Tuesday (refer to Cup fixtures for your pitch allocation). A reminder that you can plan your route to the final by viewing the original cup draw (see News story on 25th June).
In a rearranged league match played at the Shed, Grammar Hockey beat Methlick by 5 wickets.
