Week 3 ...... Strikers hit the ground running, Cults power to the top and Knightriders slay Shell

Week 3 saw the Strikers record their first win in the AECL against The Rockhoppers. The Strikers posting a challenging 111 from 15 overs, only for the Strikers bowlers to skittle out The Rockhoppers for 76 AO.

Cults meanwhile chased down a competitive total  of 134 set by Nexen with ease only requiring 12 overs from the reduced 18 overs game. Key stats for Nexen: Vaibhav 32*, Sharyth 32* and Cults reply: Steve Morrsison 33*, Vai 32 *. Cults now sitting pretty on top of the Table!

At Groats Road, with the correct wickets provided by Stewart the groundsman, Shell won the toss and elected to bat on what looked like a certain rain effected game. But, credit to both teams, they just kept going irrespective and reduced the game to 16 overs. Shell posted what seemed like a match winning 145 for 4, key scores from Abrar 31*, Wajahat 30*, Fazal Nadeem Khan 30*. The Knights batsmen came in with only one thing on their mind, and they went about it like a team possessed, the Knights only losing 1 wicket and reaching the total with 5 balls to spare. Shell CC will feel they allowed the Knights to get too many extra runs with not the best fielding, but, credit has to go to the Knights batsmen who batted brilliantly with the top 4 all retiring: Sajeev 33*, Somu 31*, Kannan 30*, Siva 30*. It seems the wicket at Groats Road plays better when wet!

The game between Siyapa v Bons was called off due to the weather at the Links, obviously both teams not wanting to get their hair wet! Smiley
