A thumping defeat for the reigning champions at the hands of Chevron at the Shed was the big surprise in the opening week of fixtures. The DeC Rebels were bowled out for a mere 56. Chevron recorded a 6 wicket victory, finishing on 57-4.

Grammar 98 started their league campaign with a comfortable victory over St Ronald at Duthie Park. After posting a target of 118-8, Grammar 98 bowled out the opposition for 41, recording a 77 run victory (taking them to the top of the table by way of a better margin).

Methlick and Dutchmill shared a last ball decider at the Shed. After Methlick set a target of 99 AO,  Dutchmill reached 100-7 with the last ball of the game to record a 3 wicket victory.

MCC started the season with a narrow 4 run victory over league newcomers Grammar Hockey at Duthie Park. After settting a target of 109 AO, MCC managed to bowl out the opposition for 105 AO.

Inn at the Park recorded a comfortable 7 wicket victory over Ellon at Duthie Park. The Park dismissed Ellon for only 55 runs and reached 58-3 at the close.
