The final league standings are now complete after four rearranged league fixtures were completed on Tuesday (see opposite). It's worthy of note that only two matches were scratched in the entire season (both in the last few weeks) and all other matches were completed (excluding Toco Sport who withdrew from the league). So it's been a very successful season in terms of getting matches played !! Caledonian recorded their second win of the season with a 20 run victory over MCC at the Links. Batting first, Caley reached 135-9. MCC were 115-5 at the close. Inn at the Park secured third place in the league with a comfortable 72 run victory over St Ronald on DP2. The Park reached 156-6 after 20 overs, with Mudassar and Asif both retiring on 30. In reply, St Ronald made 84-8 at the close (Barnett 25). read more 447 reads

As proposed at the AGM, an award will be handed out this year for the best overall batting and bowling performance of the season. It is now clear that awarding a prize based on averages alone does not work well for the AECL (in part due to having to retire on 30; there are a few players who have batted four times without being out). It is proposed the following format is adopted: Batting Each team is to put forward their nomination for the batting award. Each team is to provide the name, number of innings, number of runs scored and the number of not outs (retirals to be classed as not out) for their nominated player. read more 312 reads
