I've received some feedback of a few top performers this season in the league. Firstly, Scott Anderson of Grammar 98 with the cherry (after Week 10):

5 matches, 15 overs, 2 maidens, 12 for 51 @ 4.25 average. A strike rate of a wicket every 7.5 balls and an economy of 3.4 runs per over. Can anyone better this?

Also it was pointed out after Week 9 that Braj's 32* for MCC against Ellon brought his average up to 177 (7 innings, not out 6). Is anyone else anywhere near this?

Feel free to post any comments.

After the completion of the final scheduled week of fixtures, the league table has been updated on the basis that the 7 postponed / abandoned matches will not be played prior to August 1st (1 point has been awarded to each team).

Only ATSSC can catch the Rebels now, however this requires a win in both their postponed matches prior to August 1st, as well as the Rebels losing or not completing their outstanding fixture against IATP.

The wait is over. Methlick have recorded their first victory in the AECL following a 5 wicket victory over St Ronald at Duthie Park. But the real winners on a night of 'poor visibility' were the other newcomers to the league, the DeC Rebels, who now go two points clear at the top of the table after all their nearest rivals suffered defeat.

The match between Ellon and the DeC Rebels at the Links brought together two of the top teams. Ellon batted first and scored 122-7. The Rebels reached 123-4 in the 18th over to record a victory by 6 wickets.

I'm still waiting feedback from the Council regarding the fee structure at Sheddocksley on a Tuesday night (not for the want of trying!!). I raised this issue at the last Cricket Users Meeting and initial feedback was that a standard charge should exist at Duthie Park, the Links and Sheddocksley. You'll recall Chevron were charged £24 earlier in the season, which appears a little harsh given £8.60 (I think) is the charge for Duthie Park and the Links.

Matters came to a head this week after MCC queried the £24. The Duty Manager at Sheddocksley gave me a call and indicated that they had no choice but to use the fee structure in their possession. Any re-alignment of fees could only come from head office.

The league title is still wide open this year with four teams now sitting on 12 points after the latest round of matches. DeC Rebels, ATSSC and Toco Sport all won, however Ellon saw their 2 point lead of last week slip away after suffering a defeat at the hands of MCC. For the first time this season, the Dec Rebels hit the top spot due to their superior margin, a factor that may still prove decisive at the end of the season.

Highest scorers of the night were again the DeC Rebels, posting a daunting 232-3 in the first innings against St Ronald. St Ronald were dismissed for 86 AO in the 17th over. A victory by 146 runs improved the Dec Rebels margin considerably, however it proved not to be the highest winning margin of the night.
