On  a miserable damp night,  Ellon and Caledonian were the only teams to brave the elements and produce a result on the night. It was Sweden v England in the warmth for the rest.

IATP and the Dec Rebels did make a start, however abandoned their match after 6 overs (a promising start was made by the Park, taking 4 early wickets).

Methlick scratched earlier in the day due to a lack of players available for their match against Chevron.

Ellon's decision to play through the elements proved worthwhile, with a 45 run victory over Caledonian on DP3, a victory that now puts them on their own at the top of the table. Ellon scored 104-2, with Caledonian falling short at 59-6.

A reminder that teams have the opportunity to reschedule any match that has been postponed or abandoned. Postponed fixtures in the AECL are 'left open' until 1st August inclusive (last Tuesday before the Cup Final and prize giving). Both captains must be in agreement to reschedule the match (if not, 1 point will be awarded to each team on 1st August). Club Secretaries are responsible for making the arrangements for rescheduling postponed matches.  Please be aware there are no spare weeks built into the fixtures this year, therefore Monday / Wednesday evenings may have to be targeted if teams find themselves on a cup run. Please keep the Secretary informed of any plans.
